Dr. Carlo’s Claim:
“The video is the product of fabricated science presented to the Safe Wireless Initiative by Biopro to manipulate the Safe Wireless Initiative into a working alliance that could be leveraged by Biopro to sell its wares. Information presented to the Safe Wireless Initiative by Biopro and the person who sells them the MRET technology, Igor Smirnov was science fiction.”
The Facts:
As evidenced by the following transcript of a video interview, recorded in late 2005, after the Strategic Alliance (SWI) between BIOPRO and the Safe Wireless Initiative had been formed, clearly neither Dr. Carlo nor the SWI were “manipulated into a working alliance”, as Dr. Carlo now claims. In this 2005 interview, Dr. Carlo made the following statements on camera:
“We (the SWI) are very happy about the strategic alliance with BIOPRO. We have entered into this strategic alliance with BIOPRO because we share a common vision in terms of prevention of health problems following use of cell phone … We like BIOPRO and we sought out BIOPRO because in the first instance their products fall nicely into the Public Health Paradigm of primary, secondary and tertiary intervention…”
Furthermore, the science behind MRET was not presented to the Safe Wireless Initiative, as Dr. Carlo claims. Instead, it was presented to Dr. Carlo personally. BIOPRO introduced Dr. Carlo to the inventor of MRET, Dr. Igor Smirnov, approximately one year after the beginning of the Strategic Alliance between BIOPRO and the SWI, and approximately four months before MRET was introduced to the public, at the January 2007 BIOPRO event in Indian Wells, CA. From the time of introduction forward, Dr. Carlo had full, unrestricted access to ALL of the science and substantiation behind MRET (as well as to Dr. Smirnov personally). After thorough review of the science behind MRET, Dr. Carlo was extremely excited about the ‘marriage’ of MRET and ERT, sharing his excitement with several members of the BIOPRO Corporate Team in a personal meeting in the fall of 2006, and ultimately evidenced by his rousing endorsement of both MRET and ERT, and the BIOPRO products during his speech at the January 2007 BIOPRO convention, a video that is publicly accessible. For Dr. Carlo to now claim that the science presented to him was “fabricated” is not only slanderous, it also seriously questions his credibility as a supposedly diligent scientist. Furthermore, the Strategic Alliance between the Safe Wireless Initiative and BIOPRO had existed for over 1 year (!) before Dr. Carlo had even been introduced to Dr. Smirnov and MRET, so we find it very astonishing that Dr. Carlo now claims to have been presented with ‘fabricated science’ behind MRET, when for more than a year prior to finding out about MRET he apparently had no issues at all with the science regarding ERT, and was more than happy to voice why the SWI ‘sought out’ BIOPRO as a their Strategic Alliance Partner, as Dr. Carlo personally stated in the above referenced 2005 video interview.
Dr. Carlo’s Claim:
“In 2005, when the data were presented to us at the Safe Wireless Initiative, we took it at face value — we took Biopro and Smirnov at their words. We erred.”
The Facts:
As mentioned above, the (MRET) data was not presented to the SWI, as Dr. Carlo now claims. Instead, it was presented to Dr. Carlo personally. Also, it was not presented to Dr. Carlo in 2005, as he now claims, but it was rather presented to him in the fall of 2006. Dr. Carlo was at the BIOPRO offices when BIOPRO introduced him to Dr. Smirnov. For several days during that visit, and in the months following, Dr. Carlo thoroughly reviewed the science behind MRET before concluding that BIOPRO is “on to something very big with the combination of MRET and ERT”.
The following is an excerpt from an email sent by Dr. Carlo to both Dr. Igor Smirnov, and to BIOPRO Corporate, on 10/25/06 after Dr. Carlo had reviewed the MRET research:
Dr. Carlo wrote in his email:
“The mechanism of action description of the MRET technology that fits scientifically within our model is that the MRET polymer, because of its chemical makeup and geometric configuration, is activated in the presence of a sufficiently intense electromagnetic field, triggering a systematic, slow degradation of the polymer. The process of degradation causes molecules to fibrate in a controlled fashion, thus resulting in the formation of a low energy oscillating wave that combines with the present RF. The combined RF signal and the MRET produced wave gives the impression of a chaotic sum wave that is not recognized as coherent by the cell membrane protein sensors. Thus, the protective mechanisms described above are not triggered and the damage does not ensue.
As such, the MRET technology is a primary intervention — one that prevents damage from occurring.
The energy products — chips, pendants etc. — act to restore intercellular communication and thus minimizes the effects/symptoms and restores tissue, organ and organism function. These are secondary interventions that complement the primary interventions.
Tertiary interventions such as energy charged nutritionals work to restore damaged cell membranes back to normal.”
Dr. Carlo then proceeded to also state the following in his email from 10/25/06 to Dr. Smirnov and BIOPRO:
“I have reviewed all of the science you have provided … Your studies indeed show that near-field radiation is adequate to trigger the MRET activity. It also looks like near-field radiation from appliances is adequate … I also look forward to meeting with you once again during the first week of November (2006)”
Dr. Carlo’s above correspondence not only confirms that he had reviewed all the science provided, but that he concluded that MRET was a highly effective primary interventive. For Dr. Carlo now to deny both is yet another example of his deliberate attempts to discredit BIOPRO.
Dr. Carlo’s Claim:
“Unfortunately (he) did not make it a priority to perform the proper due diligence with independent testing until the middle of last year. With that independent testing and evaluation now completed, there is no doubt that the Biopro technology does nothing of what it claims. Indeed, it has little value in helping prevent EMR related health effects.”
The Facts:
If Dr. Carlo in fact conducted independent testing on MRET in the middle of last year (2007), as he now claims, the questions is why would he then, several months later (namely in the fall of 2007) approach the inventor of MRET, Dr. Igor Smirnov directly (without the knowledge of BIOPRO), about wanting to source the MRET Technology from him for his own business plans? Dr. Carlo attempted to provide the MRET Technology to Dr. Mercola, so that they could team up to be able to sell a product directly competitive with BIOPRO’s. To confirm Dr. Carlo’s intention of intentionally circumventing BIOPRO’s business, Dr. Joe Mercola posted the following message on his website on October 31, 2007:
“Dr. Carlo loves the BIOPRO technology but he in NO way shape or from loves the company. BIOPRO licenses the technology which is an effective primary intervention for information carrying radio waves. However, he personally told me he is not at all pleased with BioPro. He is actually helping me design the Blue Tube headset to incorporate this same technology and we hope to have it out in a few months. It will be the best headset in the world because it will not only have this effective primary remediation but also one of the best secondary remediations, similar, but even more effective than a Q link.”
With the above message, Dr. Mercola not only confirmed that Dr. Carlo and he – as recent as October 2007 – felt that MRET is an “effective primary intervention”, but also that he (Dr. Carlo) was attempting to source the MRET technology directly through Dr. Smirnov, by stating “he (Dr. Carlo) is actually helping to incorporate the same technology and we hope to have it out in a few months”. Again, our questions is this: Why would Dr. Carlo want to source the MRET technology at a point in time at which -according to his most recent claims – he supposedly had already performed “proper due diligence with independent testing” that supposedly showed that MRET “does nothing of what it claims” and that supposedly “has little value in helping prevent EMR related health effects”? Something clearly doesn’t add up with Dr. Carlo’s claims.
To confirm Dr. Carlo’s blatant attempt to license the MRET technology directly from Dr. Smirnov, here is an excerpt of a letter Dr. Smirnov sent to BIOPRO, describing Dr. Carlo’s attempts to circumvent BIOPRO’s licensing agreement with Dr. Smirnov:
Dr. Smirnov’s letter to BIOPRO stated the following:
“Dr. George Carlo lately suggested to me to enter in so called “scientific partnership” with his non-profit organization Safe Wireless Initiative. The purpose of such partnership was to claim the share in all existing and further inventions and patents of mine. On November 7, 2007 Dr. Carlo suggested to me and my company to sign a business agreement with the company of Dr. Carlo’s friend (“Shamrock”) which was involved in production of fashion clothes in order to produce EMR-shielding fabrics and clothes. Then Dr. George Carlo tried to suggest a so called “Omnibus Business Agreement” with a purpose to appropriate the monetary benefits from intellectual property of mine. According to George Carlo written notice to me, “The agreement contemplates a sequential building of the relationship among Global Quantech, you (Dr. Smirnov), Shamrock, the Safe Wireless Initiative and me (Dr. Carlo) personally.” In the beginning of this document Dr. George Carlo clearly identified his dishonest intentions to infringe upon the intellectual property rights of mine, by suggesting that ‘where appropriate, new patents and trademarks will be jointly filed and jointly owned.”
Dr. Smirnov continues to state in his letter:
“I realized the dishonest intentions of Dr. Carlo’s proposal, and on November 7, 2007 notified Dr. Carlo in writing that I will never get in any type of “scientific partnership” with Dr. Carlo, his non-profit organization or his friends. Within a few days of that notification, Dr. George Carlo began the campaign of false accusations regarding the “poor quality” of Biopro chips produced by my company. After the failure of such insinuations Dr. Carlo decided to go further claiming that he “can no longer rely on Dr. Smirnov’s science” to support MRET and EMR shielding technologies, etc. It is quite easy to understand that all insinuations of George Carlo regarding my technologies and products are made in order to exercise revenge against me for the refusal to share the right for my intellectual property and financial rewards with Dr. George Carlo. The insinuations and false statements regarding the quality and validity of MRET products (distributed by Biopro) disseminated by Dr. George Carlo obviously prove that Dr. Carlo is a malicious person unable to develop any products himself that are beneficial for humanity. He desired to appropriate the intellectual and monetary benefits generated by my inventions. After the failure of his plans he is writing letters containing a number of lies, trying to tear down the reputation of world recognized and US patented MRET and EMR shielding technologies because I was smart enough to refuse Dr. Carlo’s proposals for a “scientific partnership.”
Dr. Smirnov’s letter ends with the following remarks:
“We advice Biopro and its distributors and customers to check the website http://iddd.de/umtsno/emfkrebs/GeorgeCarloHistory.doc, which clearly shows that Dr. George Carlo has a long history and expertise in scientific manipulations and bias. All activities of Dr. George Carlo on behalf of Tobacco Industry, Melbourne Water Supply (water-quality/dioxin related problems), Cell-phone Industry, etc. and in misleading the general public are presented on this site and substantiated by references to legal documents. We believe that no reasonable person will allow Dr. George Carlo to be manipulated by him and will not pay attention to a number of lies disseminated by Dr. George Carlo. Everybody can make their own judgment, comparing scientifically poor, unsubstantiated, false and vengeful statements by Dr. Carlo on one hand, with valuable research materials presented by BIOPRO, on the other.”
Dr. Carlo’s Claim:
“I am firmly opposed to what Biopro does in their business and opposed to the misleading portrayals of their products.”
The Facts:
The irony of Dr. Carlo’s statement above is that, Dr. Carlo himself – with his ‘connecting the dots’ approach between the mechanism of harm of EMR, on one hand, and the inner workings of MRET and ERT, on the other hand – was very influential in helping shape the way BIOPRO portrays its products. A significant portion of the language crafted to describe the interplay of MRET, ERT to counteract the effects of EMR came out of face-to-face working sessions with Dr. Carlo, Dr. Smirnov and the BIOPRO Corporate Team, as well as email recommendations from Dr. Carlo himself. One can only wonder if the fact that the SWI – to this day – still owes BIOPRO close to $100,000 in membership advances (which the SWI refuses to repay to BIOPRO despite repeated requests to Dr. Carlo to do so) may have anything to do with Dr. Carlo’s sudden change of heart regarding the portrayal of products that he helped craft in the first place?
Dr. Carlo’s Claim:
“The strategic alliance with Biopro has been severed now for almost a year, and was indeed one of my most regrettable professional mistakes.”
The Facts:
The strategic alliance between BIOPRO and the SWI has been severed for precisely 5 months now, which is less than half the time that Dr. Carlo claims it has been severed for.
Dr. Carlo’s Claim:
“Please accept my sincerest apology for any harm this misrepresentation has caused you. I regret that this video now has a life of its own on the Internet being propagated by Biopro people trying to sell pyramid-type business dreams and products that have no independent scientific support.”
The Facts:
As it relates to Dr. Carlo’s comments about “pyramid-type business dreams”, BIOPRO has both video and audio footage of Dr. Carlo embracing and applauding BIOPRO’s network marketing distribution model, in front of hundreds of people. On several occasions Dr. Carlo reiterated that BIOPRO’s ‘person-to-person’ distribution approach is the only path that has ever led to success in spreading a public health awareness message such as the one about the perils of electromagnetic radiation. In a video recording discussing the strategic alliance between BIOPRO and the SWI in 2005, Dr. Carlo made the following remarks on camera regarding BIOPRO’s distribution model:
“….we like BIOPRO and we sought out BIOPRO because in the first instance their products fall nicely into the Public Health Paradigm of primary, secondary and tertiary intervention. And just as important, the structure of BIOPRO allows us a very unique opportunity of person-to-person’ intervention. You see, in Public Health the big challenge is always how do you deliver public health intervention and with the type of structure that is in place within BIOPRO we have the opportunity to deliver this person-to-person prevention within a framework that is based on trust, and that is the most effective way to deliver this type of very important message.”
Dr. Carlo’s Comment:
“Please help us by circulating this e-mail to whoever else might be harmed. It is critically important that those who are potentially being damaged by this misinformation are given the proper information.”
The Facts:
Dr. Carlo implying that the video of him positively speaking about BIOPRO’s products is “misinformation” implies that he was lying to thousands of people from the beginning of the Strategic Alliance, until its very end. The reality is that Dr. Carlo, by encouraging the readers of his slanderous letter to “circulate this email”, is yet another example of the spiteful vendetta of an individual who clearly must feel embarrassed after …
· …having been caught trying to circumvent BIOPRO’s business by attempting to source MRET directly from Dr. Smirnov for his own monetary gain;
· … having lost a key financial contributor to the SWI as a result of the severance of BIOPRO’s alliance with the SWI.
· … having legal action prepared against him personally and the Safe Wireless Initiative based on substantial amount of information that has been handed over to BIOPRO’s legal counsel since the beginning of Dr. Carlo’s campaign to discredit BIOPRO, including the SWI’s failure to repay close to $100,000 in Membership Advances to BIOPRO, despite BIOPRO’s repeated requests to do so.
Summary:
Based on Dr. Carlo’s conduct since having been caught red-handed trying to circumvent the very business (BIOPRO) that contributed significant membership fees to the Safe Wireless Initiative over a period of two years, it is clear that his vendetta against anything BIOPRO (and Dr. Smirnov) is far from over. As sad as it is that Dr. Carlo chooses to lower himself to the level of continuing to spread blatant lies and scientifically refutable untruths – now all under his new, claim of him ‘having been scientifically misled’ – all BIOPRO can do is continue to diligently add to our preparation for legal action against Dr. Carlo, and inform you about the real facts behind the Dr. Carlo ‘saga’.
While we understand that it would serve Dr. Carlo’s vendetta much more if magically all of his past audio and video footage, as well as his written communication would simply ‘go away’, thereby erasing any history of him having spoken extremely favorable about MRET, ERT, BIOPRO, Network Marketing, etc., the reality of the situation is that not even Dr. Carlo can unsay what he has said, he can’t undo what he has done, and he certainly can’t ‘un-convince the convinced. Despite Dr. Carlo’s transparent efforts to now discredit BIOPRO, our technologies, and Dr. Smirnov, the patents, trade-secrets and independent research behind our products speaks for itself. Incidentally over the past two months, additional clinical trials in government sanctioned institutions and top hospitals with physiological studies into both cell phone and MRET and ERT effects on electromagnetic radiation have been conducted. Amplified EEG trials, in vitro and in vivo blood studies and thermography studies have been performed and are currently followed up with via a 200 subject study. All studies do in fact reconfirm the beneficial protective effect from BIOPRO technologies against the effects of electromagnetic radiation. The results of the recent experiments continue to validate the MRET and ERT Technologies.
In closing, we leave you with a transcript of what Dr. Carlo has said – on video – about BIOPRO products/technologies. On Friday, January 5th, 2007, at BIOPRO’s Annual Convention in Palm Desert, CA, after four months of having had the opportunity to review the science behind MRET, Dr. George Carlo addressed the audience of several hundred BIOPRO Consultants. The following is a transcript of Dr. Carlo’s comments during his speech, which followed the introduction of the patented MRET technology by Dr. Igor Smirnov. Here is what Dr. Carlo said:
“I am still not sure that you all understand what has happened. When I was talking about – you know – what scientists do before they go to bed, and what we think about, one of the recurring dream scenarios is that you would have the ability to have a technology that could stop the protective mechanisms at the cell membrane level, and that’s what the MRET does. And then to be able to have an intervention that would restore the damaged intercellular communication, so that the symptoms would begin to go away, so that the damage did not have long term consequences – that’s the ERT. And then to be able to have a situation where the ongoing damage has been stopped, the intercellular communication has been restored, that local system is now working as efficiently as it can be, the messenger RNA is telling the DNA ‘things are cool’, that information is then being transmitted to daughter cells and the damage is being reversed. That’s what we now have. And, the part of this that I am most thankful” (Dr. Carlo pauses) – “I am getting emotional here – that I am most thankful for, is that if I could have designed it myself, based on what I knew, it would have been this. So a year ago, I came in with this idea, this vision, that if there were people who were able to really help this vision come to fruition, it would be the hugest contribution that I could ever be part of in terms of public health and my professional career. And…” (Dr. Carlo pauses and gets emotional again, then laughs and continues) “I can’t believe, how weird…” (audience applauds, then Dr. Carlo continues), “…ok, run some movie or something (audience applauds, then Dr. Carlo continues) – thank you, I really appreciate it. The fact that…” (audience applauds again) … “thank you, I really appreciate it – the fact that Ray and Alfred and the BIOPRO Team and YOU work together to make it possible, that’s really a dream come true for me. And it is really – I don’t know how to express it, really – I mean we have something now that nobody else in the world can even compete with, can’t even come close. And the Safe Wireless Initiative, this is why we exist; this is why we are there. Now the downside of this for you is that now you know. You have known about the problem, and now you know what it takes to solve the problem, and what that creates for you is a moral and an ethical obligation to get this in the hands of thousands and thousands of people as soon as you can. So now that becomes our new job together … because we have got to do this. With the problem becoming as rampant as it is, we have to do this for humanity, and it’s an obligation … Now, it doesn’t get any better than this in terms of substantiation and scientific underpinnings, it doesn’t get any better. And it doesn’t get any better in terms of the package of intervention products. It doesn’t get any better … And the key is that it is an iterative technological growth that Alfred and Ray have organized and orchestrated that has gotten us to a point where from a scientist’s point of view – it’s just – it’s a dream come true … Remember that in the past year, we have come a long way, and I can only complement Ray, and Alfred, and you for everything you’ve done. I mean I really enjoy the way that you show me your affection, I enjoy that, but I am no dummy. I know where this comes from. It’s because you have your own purpose, you have your own destiny, and maybe I am playing a little bit of a roll, but it’s really about you now. You have the interventions, you have the mission, you have the ability to reach millions of people. You have an obligation to do that every day with every bit of energy that you have…”
